Wedding Skin Preparation in Scottsdale, AZ

Congratulations! You’re Engaged!

Now it’s time to start planning. We need to get into the nitty-gritty of looking fantastic on your big day and Beauty Made Simply has just the right solution for you. There are two key reasons to get a pro skin professional in your corner early on: One, they can assess your complexion’s current state way better than you and your trusty magnifying mirror. And two, they can help you devise a strategy for achieving your dream-skin goals, be it softening pesky forehead wrinkles or zapping acne. Our esthetician, Stacie, will assess your skin and guide you through the process of looking your best. She’ll design a treatment plan as well as recommend specific products to brighten, tighten, and give an enviable glow. Not to put too fine a point on it, but flawless skin should probably be one of the top priorities for your wedding day, right up there with securing a stunning venue.

It’s a safe assumption that on no other occasion will a woman be as photographed as on her wedding day, so the desire for glowing, smooth, pore-less skin is a given. Maintaining a regular ritual of washing, exfoliating, toning and hydrating is key to achieving healthy skin for the “I do” moment, but it is also advisable to have a few facials in the months and weeks leading up to the wedding day, to give skin a little extra boost.

Along with a traditional facial, the following types of treatments represent the latest, most effective technologies — not to mention the red carpet secrets of Hollywood’s A-List — for guaranteed radiance come wedding day.

1 Year Out

Microneedling

Microneedling is an amazing treatment to start 1 year out.Pesky acne scars are just one of the targets of this popular technique, also known as collagen induction therapy, which consists of pricking the surface of the skin with a device containing tiny, sterile needles. When wounded, even very lightly, the skin responds by producing more skin cells, which leads to boosted cell turnover and regeneration that can diminish fine lines, scars and discoloration. Additionally, the treatment plumps the skin because it’s creating more collagen. In a spa or dermatologist’s office, the treatment is often done in combination with powerful plant stem cells, which are pushed deeper into the skin because of the needles.

In between your microneedling treatments you’ll be guided to proper exfoliation. As dead cells accumulate on the skin, they interfere with light reflection giving it a dull appearance.  The solution: Regular exfoliation paired with a brightening serum to give you the best lit-from-within glow on your wedding day. I recommend exfoliating once per week initially, and advancing to twice per week after a month or so if you can tolerate it. BMS Cosmeceuticals Level Up and Bubble Up masks provide optimal exfoliation while adding key nutrients back into the skin.

Chemical Peels

There is a wide array of peels on the market to target all skin concerns and conditions. Everything from a light vitamin c peel for collagen boosting and brightening to TCA or Jessner’s for deepr wrinkles. For those dealing with pigmentation issues, we will have you on specific skin brighteners to enhance the effect of the peels.

Brows

We’ve all been guilty of over-plucking, but now is the time to seriously put the tweezers down and give up the threading and waxing. Why? When you over-pluck, you lose all of your natural arch shape, which can change your facial expression altogether. Every bride needs a good aesthetician to whip those brows into shape before the big day, and sometimes that means letting them grow for several months before your next wax.

Oxygen

If you only get one type of facial before the big day, make it an oxygen facial. It’s what stars do just before stepping foot onto the red carpet, and it’s safe for everyone — even for those with sensitive skin. Oxygen is an instant pick-me-up for the complexion. At Beauty Made Simply the treatment infuses hyaluronic acid and Poly lactic acid, which makes it super plumping and hydrating. There is no redness, no down time, and since oxygen itself is antibacterial, the treatment makes your face an inhospitable environment for potential last-minute pimples. This treatment also includes dermaplane for a flawless finish.

LED Light Therapy

LED light therapy is a noninvasive way to fight fine lines, wrinkles, discoloration, acne and other issues. The mostly red, blue and white lights are anti-inflammatory, which is great for right before a big event. Moreover, you don’t feel a thing, except perhaps some very slight warming. Additionally, LED helps destroy acne-causing bacteria, stimulates collagen production, tightens and tones. It’s also an effective way to improve skin texture, which of course is top of mind in the face of hundreds of closeups and that all-important first kiss.

Fibroblast Skin Tightening

For those with more mature skin or skinlaxity, we may take a larger approach and incorporate fibroblasting as a method to enhance your natural beauty. This procedure does need to be done at least 3 months out, but I like to er on the side of caution and perform it 6 months before a big event. Incorporating proper serums and post care make this treatment a game changer when it comes to looking your best.

3 Months Out

Most women don’t realize that your skincare routine truly starts in the shower and that using a gentle cleanser is key. BMS Cosmeceuticals Lather Up cleanser is loaded with panthenol and essential oils to hydrate while cleansing. We recommend gently patting skin dry instead of rubbing and applying serums and lotion within minutes of getting out of the shower to lock in moisture before it evaporates. Get in the habit of doing this for beautiful skin from head to toe come your wedding day. You can also incorporate oils into your body regimen. A great way to keep your skin moist and flake free is to apply a good oil such as grapeseed right out of the shower.

Don’t forget the decolletage! Not only is it a notorious sun-magnet, but the décolletage is also prone to wrinkling because the skin is so thin. The skin of the neck and chest has a very different structure than that of the face and body. The décolletage is an area with significantly less ‘fat padding’ and is generally more delicate than facial skin. Translation: To look amazing in that plunging gown, you might need to put some extra effort in here. BMS Cosmeceuticals Turn Up neck cream infuses moisture rich ingredients to fight redness and crepey texture.

Dermaplaning

If you’re someone who wears a lot of makeup on a regular basis, it’s an amazing option. With this treatment, Stacie uses a thin, 10-gauge scalpel to remove the top layer of dull, dead skin, revealing a fresher, brighter, softer new layer below. It makes for silky smooth makeup application for the big day, as well as a flawless finish. Dermaplane is incorported into most of Beauty Made Simply’s treatments but it is also a stand alone treatment. There’s zero downtime, and it also means there will be no peach fuzz showing up in the sunlight or a camera flash.
