The skin is the largest organ of the body and must be treated with great care. Keeping the skin strong and healthy should be an easy task, with only a few steps such as cleansing, exfoliating and adding hydration. To get a proper examination of the skin and understand exactly what it needs, look no further than Beauty Made Simply, nominated as best Phoenix esthetician.
Step 1 is a healthy diet. I’ve discussed diet in a few other posts because it is so important. Fruits, vegetables and lean proteins provide essential vitamins and nutrients which will flood the skin and help maintain proper lipid levels. If the skin is always dehydrated and not feeling healthy, a possibility is that you are lacking essential fatty acids such as Omega 3. If you’re looking for a product to enhance Omega fatty acids, try the Rest Up Overnight Mask from Beauty Made Simply
Step 2 stay away from the pollutants! Arizona is notorious for poor air quality but that is only compounded when we smoke and/or vape. Smoking dehydrates the skin, discolors it, and heightens the potential for skin cancers. The pollutants from smoke linger in the skin and are extremely hard to purge.
Step 3 don’t over cleanse the skin. Often, people think they need squeaky clean skin but washing away all those wonderful oils leaves the skin compromised and susceptible to irritation. Water that is too hot is one of the worst offenders for dehydrating the skin. Always add a moisturizer after cleansing the skin to lock in hydration.
Step 4 protect your skin from the sun. Over exposure to the sun has the potential to cause skin cancer. Protection with use of a zinc oxide or titanium dioxide spf is always best.
